Imagine Commerce 2016 Session Recap: Magento 2 Developer Deep Dive
We’re excited to be among the best and brightest Magento partners and users at this year’s Magento Imagine conference. To kick things off, we wanted to recap what is sure to be one of the hottest topics at this year’s show – Magento 2.
Magento 2 Developer Deep Dive was geared towards front-end developers, back-end developers, and technical executives (including our very own Product Manager Jarrett Board) and focused on:

• Migrate from Magento 1.x to Magento 2 Like a Pro
• Magento 1.x to Magento 2 Code Migration Tools Technical Deep Dive
• Magento Technical Ask Us Anything Panel

Looking to get a general overview of Magento 2 and best practices, Jarrett popped into the session and left with great insights into what to expect from Magento 2 this year including it’s inherent mobile responsive nature and modular design.

Insights from today’s session:
Magento 2 makes it easier to integrate with partners (like yours truly) to become more successful. Magento also provides easy authentication across multiple platforms including web, mobile and enterprise systems, more out-of the-box APIs and easy custom APIs.

Most interesting takeaways from today’s session:
Magento 2 is designed to create an ecosystem for store owners to utilize – making their lives all the easier. Stores can integrate with several different types of Integration Points to meet their needs, including:

  • Product Information Systems – Pimcore, Riversand
  • Order Managements Systems – Magento, Shopatron
  • SaaS connections – Springbot, Mail chimp, Etc
  • Mobile Apps
  • Social “Buy Buttons”  – Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest
  • Marketplaces – Amazon, Ebay, etc
  • Internet of Things

Overall, Magento 2 is extensively improved and designed to make development and integration easier for developers and we could not be more excited about the launch of Magento 2. And special thanks to Vitalii Korotun, Magento Senior Architect at Magento and Alan Kent, Magneto Chief Architect at Magento for presenting on Magento 2 Developer Deep Dive. You guys did an A+ job!

What’d we miss?
